RIVERSIDE, N.J. (WPVI) -- A cargo ship ran aground on the Delaware River Tuesday morning.

It happened overnight at the mouth of the Rancocas Creek near Riverside, N.J.

The U.S. Coast Guard tells Action News the Nord Explorer was traveling south when it struck bottom.

The ship had already unloaded its shipment of salt and was empty when it ran ground during low tide.

The Coast Guard says no one was injured and nothing was leaking from the vessel.

Crews waited for the rising tide to lift the ship, and the Coast Guard has confirmed that the ship is no longer stuck in the shoal, and has headed onward to its destination.
