There is now a reward being offered in what officials are calling a horrible act of animal abuse.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- There is now a reward being offered in what officials are calling a horrible act of animal abuse.

Officials have now put up $1,000 for information leading the arrest and conviction of the person who repeatedly shot a cat with a nail gun.

Bucks County SPCA officials say the male cat was found about a block southeast of the intersection of 202 and East State Street on January 3rd in Doylestown.

The nails were discovered in the cat's head, cheek and hip.

Officials say a community member found the frightened, injured cat in an open chest outside their home on Sunday and immediately contacted them.

Unfortunately, because of the extent of the cat's injuries, he had to be humanely euthanized.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bucks County SPCA at 215-794-7425.
