Central Bucks West coach loses job after hazing scandal

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A suburban Philadelphia football coach suspended amid a hazing scandal won't be back next season.

School officials said Tuesday that a review had found that Brian Hensel and his staff at Central Bucks High School West failed to adequately supervise the team the entire season. He and his staff also were faulted for not having signed a code of conduct.

The team's final two games were canceled after an investigation uncovered what the superintendent called "humiliating" initiation rites. He said they included a requirement that rookies grab other player's genitals while fully clothed.

Suspensions of assistant coaches were lifted but it will be up to the next head coach to decide if they stay on.

Hensel's attorney was unaware of the decision and had no immediate comment.
