Cheltenham firefighters battle 4 alarm house fire

Firefighters are on the scene of a multi-alarm house fire in Cheltenham Twp.

CHELTENHAM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A multi-alarm blaze inside a house in Cheltenham, Montgomery County has been placed under control.

Flames broke out late Thursday morning on the 1000 block of Greenwood Avenue.

Firefighters are on the scene of a multi-alarm blaze in Cheltenham Twp.

The fire was quickly upgraded to 4 alarms.

The view from Chopper 6 showed a massive column of smoke coming from the home while flames shot out from windows and the roof.

Authorities say the house was vacant at the time the fire broke out.

The fire was placed under control at 2:20 p.m.

So far, no word on what sparked the fire.

Chopper 6 was over this house fire in Cheltenham.

No injuries have been reported.
