Boy, 11, struck by car in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- An 11-year-old boy was hospitalized after being struck by a car in Wilmington, Delaware.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of West 6th Street.

He was taken to AI DuPont Hospital for Children in serious condition for head and leg injuries.

The driver of the striking vehicle did stop at the scene.

Police are investigating.
