City Year Philadelphia celebrates it's 18th year

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- 205 young people dedicated themselves to making sure students have a successful school year ahead.

City Year Philadelphia hosted a pep rally to kick off its 18th year of serving the students in Philadelphia public schools.

These mentors will work side-by-side with teachers to provide support to students who need extra attention.

The City Year program aims to decrease the dropout rate.
