College basketball player injured in South Philly double shooting
Police are investigating a double shooting in South Philadelphia that injured a college basketball player and a teenager.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A college basketball player was injured in a double shooting in South Philadelphia.

John Davis, a senior basketball player with Towson University, and a 16-year-old boy were shot in the 900 block of South 4th Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The teen was shot in the left thigh and taken to Jefferson University Hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

Davis was treated and released for a graze wound to the right knee at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

According to school officials, Davis was in town to play Drexel, and then attended a family event.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.
