CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A Five Seconds of Summer concert ended in disappointment for some diehard fans Friday night. The VIP backstage passes they paid hundreds of dollars for turned out to be fake.

Janessa McCann of Fairless Hills is just one of about a half dozen fans who thought they were going to attend the band's meet and greet Friday afternoon.

But when McCann and her aunt got to the gate, they were told they had been scammed.

Janessa explains, "It's pretty messed up. My mom was talking to him over email. I really was excited. Now I'm disappointed."

Action News is told the victims bought the bogus passes off a website that claimed to be affiliated with the band.

Concert promoter Live Nation tells Action News that they are investigating.
