VIDEO: $3,500 reward in fatal SW Phila. hit-and-run
A reward is being offered to find the person who struck and killed Nehemiah Gredic while he was fixing his bike in Southwest Philadelphia.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Gwendolyn Gredic has wonderful words to describe her son Nehemiah.

"He's a young man that would give you the shirt off his back. He was just an all-around nice young man," said Gredic.

On Monday February 17, 2014, surveillance video captured Nehemiah fixing his bicycle just after 5:00 p.m. on the 6200 block of Kingsessing Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

"While he was down fixing the chain on his bike, there was several vehicles that came around and unfortunately this one truck did not see him," said Gredic.

Nehemiah was hit and killed.

Witnesses say the driver did stop momentarily but then fled the scene.

"It's been a year - I haven't really slept," said Gredic.

The vehicle is described as a 2002-2004 black 4-door Jeep Grand Cherokee.

It would have had damage on the passenger side panel door and the front bumper.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $3,500 reward with AAA Mid-Atlantic posting $2,500 of that for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

All you need to do is call 215-546-TIPS (8477). All calls will remain anonymous.

Gredic's mother has a message for her son's killer.

"I still forgive whoever did it. I do forgive them because I can't move on if I didn't forgive them," she said.
