Crime Fighters: Trio of robbers sought in Rite Aid armed robbery
Philadelphia police are hoping the release of surveillance video leads them to a trio of robbers.

ELKINS PARK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are hoping the release of surveillance video leads them to a trio of robbers.

The robbery happened on Nov. 25, 2016, at the Rite Aid along the 1400 block of Cheltenham Avenue in the city's Elkins Park section.

"They go in about 7:35. Three guys, one of them goes up to the register, he's got a gun, a semi-automatic handgun. He demands the money, the cashier gives him the money. The two other guys, one stays at the front counter, the other is the lookout," said John Apeldorn, Citizens Crime Commission.

The men were all wearing masks, hooded sweatshirts and gloves. There were shoppers inside at the time, but luckily no one was hurt.

"There were people in the store, but when the police got there, they had already left, so they didn't get a chance to interview them," said Apeldorn. "Now if they have any information on this job we have a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction."
