Crime Fighters: Finding justice for a young father of 4. Rick Williams reports during Action News at 11 p.m. on July 22, 2017.

CHESTER (WPVI) -- A young father of 4 is gunned down in Chester. Now his mother says it's time to bring her son's killer to justice.

Joanne Gaitwood says her son, Kyle Watson's, death was simply senseless.

"Someone shot him in the back of the head and threw him out on the street," said Gaitwood.

In the early morning hours on Sunday, January 22, the 28-year-old was in the area of 6th and Magnolia Streets in Chester, Delaware County.

That's where police found Watson, shot in the head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gaitwood believes his death is somehow connected to a few recent acquaintances he had made.

"He had just started relationships with some guys in Chester, not too long after, I find my son dead," said Gaitwood.

Gaitwood says she talked to Watson just a few hours before his death.

"Around 1:00 in the morning I got a call from my son and he said 'mom are you alright, I'm just checking on you.' That's the last time I heard from him," recalled Gaitwood.

The City of Chester and the Delaware County District Attorney's Office is offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

All you have to do is call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.

All calls will remain anonymous.

For Gaitwood she just wants to put this behind her.
