CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Detectives are seeking the public's help in the murder of a man found fatally shot inside his car in Chester, Pennsylvania.

At 10:43 p.m. on Jan. 8, police responded to the area of 15th and Shaw Terrace for reports of a shooting victim inside a car.

When officers arrived they found David Alston in a blue Toyota Camry.

"He's found in his car, motor's running, it's in gear and he's shot in the head," said John Apeldorn of the Citizens Crime Commission.

The 42-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Right now, police have no motive for the shooting.

"He might have been a victim of road rage, it could have been an argument, it could have been he was at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Apeldorn. "The police are looking for some information, maybe somebody saw something."

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $10,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

"Chester City has put up $5,000 and the DA down there also added five so it's a total of $10,000," said Apeldorn.

Anonymous calls can be submitted by calling 215-546-TIPS.
