Deadly auto-pedestrian accident in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A man was killed after being hit by a car in New Castle, Delaware.

The deadly crash happened at 9:30 p.m. Monday on the 500 Block of East Basin Road.

The unidentified victim was taken from the scene to Christiana Hospital where he died a short time later.

The road was closed until around midnight while investigators remained at the scene.

The driver of the striking vehicle did remain at the scene.

It's not clear yet if any charges will be filed.
