A Delaware County jury convicted a doctor of attempted murder.

MIDDLETOWN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A pediatrician from Delaware County was found guilty of attempted murder stemming from an argument and shooting in Middletown Township last year.

Lauren Patricia Daly, who was a pediatrician for the A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, was convicted by a jury on Monday night after 45 minutes of deliberations.

The shooting happened in the driveway of Daly's home in the 200 block of North Middletown Road on May 27, 2013.

Police said Daily and her former partner, a 49-year-old woman, got into an argument in the driveway.

The couple had ended their relationship several years ago, but shared custody of their children, an 11-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, investigators said.

The victim had just dropped off the 9-year-old at Daly's home and was sitting at the wheel of her black Volvo. State police say Daly became angry and wanted to speak to her son, who was sitting in the front passenger seat.

That's when Daly allegedly pulled a gun and opened fire at the windshield of the car.

The victim was hit by bullets in the face and torso. The 11-year-old boy in the passenger seat and the 9-year-old girl standing near the car were not hurt.

The victim drove herself in the bullet-ridden Volvo to Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media.
