Drexel University student sexually assaulted off-campus

PHILADELPHIA -- Drexel University says a student was sexually assaulted off-campus early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say it happened at 4:30 a.m. in an on-campus private residence the 3400 block of Spring Garden Street.

The victim, a 21-year-old female student, said she awoke to find someone standing over her bed.

Drexel said it was cooperating with the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit in the investigation.
