All lanes and ramps from I-276 westbound to I-476 northbound and southbound have reopened, nearly five hours after a dump truck overturned.

PLYMOUTH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- All lanes and ramps from I-276 westbound to I-476 northbound and southbound have reopened, nearly five hours after a dump truck overturned, trapping the driver in the wreckage.

It happened before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday on the ramp from the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike to the northbound Northeast Extension (I-476) in Plymouth Township.

Police tell Action News that the dump truck collided with a pickup truck.

Images from Chopper 6 HD showed a large dump truck lying on its side, its load of stone spilled across the ramp.

Several firefighters were on top of the overturned truck, working to free the driver.

6abc.com streamed live for more than an hour as the rescue effort unfolded.

Finally at 8:15 a.m. rescue crews were able to pull the man from the cab of the dump truck.

There was no immediate word on the driver's condition.

It was around 11:00 a.m. when traffic reopened. However, an area of congestion still remains.

Crews continue to work on a portion of the ramp in the right lane at the scene, but traffic is getting by.

Motorists should expect delays.
