Police say a driver spent the night down an embankment before being rescued in Fairmount Park Saturday morning.

Police say a driver spent the night down an embankment before being rescued in Fairmount Park Saturday morning.

A 34-year-old man lost control of his vehicle around midnight on Forbidden Drive off Bells Mill Road.

Police say his vehicle went off the side of the road and rolled down an embankment about 60 feet, trapping him inside.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 6:30 a.m. and located the vehicle down the embankment.

Crews had to work to free the man then move him back up the embankment.

The victim spent several hours trapped before he was rescued.

He was taken by ambulance to Einstein Medical Center in serious condition.

The incident is under investigation.

The driver has not been identified and police have not said how the victim was found.
