Driver shot and wounded in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man was shot while driving a van in North Philadelphia.

The incident occurred just past midnight Wednesday on the 2700 block of Chalmers Avenue.

The victim in his 20s was shot in the thigh, but managed to drive three blocks to the 2800 block of North Stillman Street.

He is in critical but stable condition in the hospital.

The van was struck with at least six bullets. The tires and windshield were also shot out.

So far, there is no word on any suspects or a motive.
