A fire that forced a family onto the street in Delaware has been ruled accidental.

NEWPORT, Del. (WPVI) -- A fire that forced a family onto the street in Newport, Delaware has been ruled accidental.

Six people were able to escape the burning house on State Street just after 6 a.m. Friday.

Investigators have determined the flames started inside a laundry room because of faulty electrical wiring in a wall.

The blaze caused an estimated $20,000 in damage.
