Fire destroys home in Aston, Delaware County

ASTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- Fire destroyed a home in Aston, Delaware County Tuesday morning.

It broke out after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Garden Lane.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames engulfing the 2-story, single-family home.

The fire burned for more than an hour before crews got the upper hand.

There were no reports of injuries.

Officials tell Action News the fire appears to have started in the basement.

Fire investigators are working to pinpoint the cause.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting three adults who were forced from the home.
