Firefighters in Middle Township, New Jersey are being credited with saving the lives of animals during a blaze Friday evening.

The fire started before 6 p.m. in a storage area behind the Abri Animal Hospital at 38 US Route 47.

Smoke traveled inside the main facility where the animals were housed.

Fire crews removed the animals safely, and then extinguished the flames.

There is no immediate word on the damage estimate.
