Food market in Point Breeze robbed at gunpoint

Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects who robbed a food market at gunpoint in the city's Point Breeze section.

POINT BREEZE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects who held up a food market at gunpoint in the city's Point Breeze section.

The incident happened inside the 20th Street Market located on the 1700 block of South 20th Street back on January 18th.

The pair can be seen on surveillance walking into the store at 1:45 p.m. with their faces covered.

The first suspect pointed a handgun at a customer before making his way behind the counter.

The second suspect stood guard at the front door before ordering several customers to their knees at gunpoint.

The robbers then stole cash from the register and several cartons of cigarettes from behind the counter.

They also took money from each customer and stole an employee's purse containing $40, a ring and a passport.

Both suspects then forced everyone to the rear of the store before fleeing north on 20th Street.

There were no reports of injuries during the robbery.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male, 20 years-old and 5'8" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a blue jacket and black pants.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 20 years-old and 5'8" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a light blue hood and sleeves, black pants and black sneakers.
