Former Philadelphia police officer sentenced for assaulting girl

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A retired Philadelphia police officer was sentenced Friday on charges that he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl.

A judge ruled that Walter Sasse spend one to two years in prison.

Investigators say Sasse met his victim while working at the Courtesy Stables in Andorra.

He was arrested back in March 2014.

Sasse's attorneys immediately filed an appeal, which will be heard at a later date.

In the meantime, he is free on house arrest.
