Funeral held for victim in Mercy-Fitzgerald Hospital shooting

HAVERTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Delaware County community came out Wednesday to mourn Theresa Hunt, the victim killed in the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital shooting last week.

Hunt was the caseworker of psychiatric patient Richard Plotts - her alleged killer.

Mourners say it's a shame that she was killed in a job where she tried to help people.

"It just brings into sharp focus the difficulties we face in society and the difficulties we face as caseworkers have every day," said John McBlain, Delaware County Council.

Hunt was a resident of Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood but her viewing and funeral were held in Havertown at the Stretch Funeral Home.
