All clear given after gas main struck in Clifton Heights

CLIFTON HEIGHTS, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police in Clifton Heights, Delaware County have been given the all clear after a gas main was struck Thursday morning.

PECO says they received the call at 9:07 a.m. after a paving contractor struck a 2-inch plastic gas line along the 300 block of East Madison Avenue.

According to the police chief, contractors struck a gas line.

Local residents and a day care located on that block were evacuated.

PECO secured the area at 9:50 a.m.

Repair crews remained on site to make permanent repairs.

PECO said four customers would be without service until about 3 p.m., when the repair work was expected to be complete.
