Gunfire damages vehicles in West Philadelphia neighborhood

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a burst of gunfire that damaged several vehicles in West Philadelphia late Monday.

The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. Monday along West Jefferson Street near 60th Street.

Officers arrived to find four vehicles damaged by gunfire. A number of windows on the vehicles had been shattered.

A bullet also landed in one of the houses.

Police believe the gunman may have been targeting a house on the block.

Investigators taped off the street and were planning to collect evidence.

They were checking to see if the gunfire may have been captured by surveillance cameras in the area.

There were no reports of injures.
