Dozens of officers were called after gunfire erupted at a birthday party outside a bowling alley in Newport, Delaware.

NEW PORT, Del. (WPVI) -- Dozens of officers were called after gunfire erupted at a birthday party outside a bowling alley in Newport, Delaware.

The disturbance occurred before midnight Friday at the Pleasant Hills Bowling Alley on the 1000 block of West Newport Pike.

Police say someone pulled out a gun during an argument in the parking lot.

Bullets struck a car, and just missed a large crowd of juveniles scrambling for cover, police say. Shell casings were scattered all over the scene.

Police say blood was found in the parking lot, but so far, no injuries were reported.

Investigators are questioning several people.

So far, there is no word on any charges.
