VIDEO: Gunman opens fire in Upper Dublin housing complex
Authorities are investigating a frightening shooting.

Authorities in Montgomery County are investigating a frightening shooting. Someone fired several shots in an Upper Dublin housing complex, leaving bullet holes in nearby homes.

Police are mystified. They say they might respond to an occasional run of the mill argument among neighbors at this housing complex - but not gun violence.

Residents are glad nobody was hurt and concerned about what's come to their neighborhood.

Police spent the afternoon looking for shell-casings in the courtyard of the North Hills Manor complex. They found them - at least seven to nine shell casings.

Even more disconcerting, they found bullet holes in the sides of trees and in the outside walls of at least two homes.

A woman who lives in one of those homes says she was washing dishes when a bullet came tearing into her kitchen. Fortunately, she wasn't hurt.

Her neighbors were stunned such violence erupted in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon.

Neighborhood resident Lesha Williams tells us, "I am shocked because stuff like this doesn't go on in this neighborhood. It doesn't go on period on this street."

Around 12:45 this afternoon, police started getting reports of gunfire. They believe a gunman was standing alongside the line of rowhomes and firing clear across an open courtyard into a group of people standing on the other side.

Nobody was hit but the shell casings and bullet holes give a clear indication how determined the gunmen was to hit his target.

Neighbors are convinced anyone who would pull a trigger in their neighborhood came in from the outside.

Williams says, "It's making its way up to Montgomery County, you know. All this violence and riff raff and gunfire and stuff."

At this point, police don't know who the intended target was, and they don't know the motive. This investigation continues.
