Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a triple shooting in the city's Olney section.

OLNEY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a triple shooting in the city's Olney section.

The shootings happened around 10 p.m. on August 16th around the 5900 block of North 2nd Street.

Police said when they arrived on the scene, three, unidentified victims stated they were walking when they heard gunshots and began to run in different directions.

For the purpose of this story, these persons will be identified as victims #1, #2 and #3.

Victim #1, a 26-year-old male, told police he was walking eastbound on Linton when the male suspect started shooting injuring the victim in the left buttocks, police said. The victim was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center by private vehicle, police said.

Victims #2, a 22-year-old male, and #3, a 23-year-old female, told police they were in the area of 2nd and Widener streets when victim #3 noticed the male suspect walking across the street, police said. Both victims said they heard gunshots and began to flee the scene after noticing they were shot, police said.

Victim #2 suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm, a graze wound to his back and was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition, police said. Victim #3 was shot once in the upper thigh and was also rushed to Einstein in stable condition, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 6 feet 2-3 inches tall, wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans, police said. He may be operating a newer model charcoal-colored Dodge Charger, police said.
