Suspect sought in taxi cab shooting

Philadelphia's southwest detectives are looking for the man who shot at a taxi driver in Overbrook.

It happened back on April 1st, in the area of 55th and Lancaster Avenue.

The 53 year old Philly Cab Company driver picked up the suspect at 56th and Market Streets and asked to be taken to the Good Times Bar on the 5500 block of Lansdowne Avenue.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect buying alcohol before returning to the cab.

When they reached the final destination, the cab driver says the man got out without paying.

The driver followed the suspect down the street, demanding payment.

A short time later, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun, pointed it a the driver and fired a shot as the driver sped away.

He was not hurt.
