Gunman sought in West Philadelphia shooting incident

Police are searching for the gunman who sent a man to the hospital in West Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened just before 2:00 a.m. in the area of the 5600 block of Wyalusing Avenue.

Police told Action News that the victim was being taken to Lankenau Hospital in a private vehicle, when officers stepped in and took him the rest of the way.

The unidentified victim had bullet fragments in his beard, and was not seriously injured.

Police are investigating the incident.
