Hermit crab mascot in Ocean City says early summer after seeing shadow

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Jersey Shore's most famous weather predictor says summer is coming early.

Martin Z. Mollusk, the hermit crab and mascot of Ocean City saw his shadow Saturday with the help of artificial light.

That means summer will come a week early, according to local folklore.

Martin was happy to make his prediction, even though the weather had him feeling a little crabby.
