CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A historic tree fell victim to the strong storms Monday night in Center City Philadelphia.

A large branch broke off the elm tree at 2129 Chestnut Street.

An arborist inspected the damage Tuesday morning and says it's possible the rest of the tree can be saved.

Officials will start work on that this weekend.

The tree sits on the historic property that was once the New Church of Jerusalem.
