A suspect has been arrested the Houston road rage incident that left a woman with a gunshot wound to her head, police said.

Dietrich Evans, 22, is charged with aggravated assault, a first degree felony, in connection to last month's shooting, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. Victim Kay Hafford, 28, was shot in the head after honking at another driver on March 20.

Deputies say they found the car and the possible weapon used in the shooting on the North Freeway.

Investigators confiscated a gun and a White Chevy Suburban that belongs to Evans at his home today, they said. Evans, who has "been positively identified by the victim as the man who shot her on the freeway," is being held at the Harris County Jail on a $250,000 bond, the sheriff's office said. Evans is a "documented gang member," according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities were on the scene at his apartment complex in north Houston, KTRK reports. It was not clear if Evans has an attorney, the sheriff's office told ABC News.

Hafford was on her way to work that Friday morning when she honked at a driver who cut her off, she had told ABC News. Police said that minutes later the driver pulled up right next to Hafford's car, fired a single shot through her passenger-side window and then took off. She still managed to pull over and call authorities.

"When I heard Siri, that's when I cried." she said. "When I heard her say, 'Who do you want to call?' I said 911 and a 911 operator picked up. That's when I lost it."

She survived and is expected to make a full recovery.
