PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The owner of Jim's Steaks on South Street in Philadelphia has released surveillance video of vandals smashing the windows of his shop - in the hopes of tracking down the culprits.

Ken Silver said it happened around 3 a.m. Sunday.

He believes some young people "got a little too drunk," were upset the restaurant was closed, and took it out on the front glass.

It cost about $2,000 to replace the glass.

However, instead of going to police, Silver posted the video to social media.

"I think the police have enough to worry about, handling serious crime," Silver said. "I was more concerned about them wasting their time trying to handle something I thought we could handle on social media."

Silver said his social media posts are getting a lot of comments - and he is getting closer to figuring out who the vandals are.
