Man, 19 shot in the neck in West Kensington

Police say a 19-year-old male was shot in the neck in Philadelphia's West Kensington section Thursday night.

The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. along the 3100 block of Reach Street.

Officers found the victim lying on the street and rushed him to Temple University Hospital for treatment.

He is in critical condition and may be paralyzed as a result of the shooting.

Police say the suspect fled the scene and is still on the loose.

Investigators have not said the motive for the violent act.
