Man assaulted with hammer in South Philadelphia home invasion

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man was assaulted with a hammer during an apparent home invasion in South Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Durfor Street.

The victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital for what's described as non-life threatening injuries.

No word if anything was taken.

Police continue to investigate.
