Man critical after Atlantic City Expressway crash

WINSLOW TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A man is in critical condition after losing control of his vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway, police say.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday in Winslow Township.

Police say the car rolled over several times and landed on its roof in the median of the expressway.

Firefighters and EMS were called to the scene where they freed the driver.

The man was taken by medical helicopter to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition.

Police are investigating why the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The highway was shut down to accommodate the medical helicopter.
