Man critical after house fire in West Oak Lane

WEST OAK LANE (WPVI) -- A 65-year-old man is critical after a house fire in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section.

The fire started just after 6 p.m. Friday in the 7500 block of Gilbert Street on the first floor of a two-story home.

The fire was brought under control in less than 12 minutes.

As firefighters did a search, they found the victim unconscious inside the home.

He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
