LOGAN (WPVI) -- A man is facing multiple charges after a high-speed chase in Philadelphia's Logan section.

Eric Perales, 31, of the 700 block of Holly Street, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and fleeing police.

Police responded around 11:55 p.m. Friday to the 3900 block of North 9th Street.

Officers stopped a 2004 Nissan Maxima, operated by Perales, when a struggle ensued.

Perales fled the scene and police gave chase, during which the suspect struck a patrol car and attempted to run down an officer, police say.

The chase was called off, and a police helicopter was called in.

Perales later crashed the vehicle on the 500 block of East Westmoreland Street, and he was taken into custody by officers who identified him as the suspect.

No injuries were reported.
