Man found shot in the head in Francisville

FRANCISVILLE (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man in the Francisville section of Philadelphia.

The shooting happened before 1:00 a.m. Thursday on the 1400 block of Poplar Street.

Friends say they found the victim shot once in the head inside an apartment.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were searching for a weapon. One shell casing was found close to the victim.

Investigators are questioning the friends who found the victim's body.

Police say it appears the victim uses the residence for a silk screening business.
