Man hospitalized after Germantown fire

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- A fire in the Germantown section of Philadelphia has sent a man to the hospital.

Crews were called out to a home on the 200 block of East Ashmead Street at around 5:00 a.m. Sunday.

Flames were shooting from the first and second floors.

It took crews about 10 minutes to get the fire under control.

A man was taken to Einstein Medical Center for smoke inhalation.

He is in stable condition.

The Red Cross is assisting 7 people.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
