Man injured by gunfire in New Castle County

NEW CASTLE CO., Del. (WPVI) -- A New Castle County neighborhood turned into a crime scene Friday afternoon when a 27-year-old man was hit by gunfire.

It happened around 1:10 p.m. in the Overview Gardens development along the unit block of Briarcliff driver in new castle.

Investigators tell Action News the victim was shot and taken to the hospital.

Officers spent much of the afternoon collecting evidence from outside of a home.

It's not clear if they have a motive or a suspect in the shooting.
