Body of missing boater recovered in Delaware River

Rescue teams flew over the river this morning to search for the man.
Philadelphia police say the body of a man who vanished after his boat capsized in the Delaware River has been recovered.

The body of the 66-year-old man was discovered around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the river near Delaware Avenue and Linden Street.

A passerby driving a WaveRunner discovered the body, officials say.

Police say the man was on a 24 foot sailboat with four friends when Wednesday's severe weather hit.

The boat overturned near the Delaware River Yacht Club.

Four people made it to shore safely.

The missing man was last seen using a cooler as a flotation device.

Rescuers believe they found that same cooler washed up on the New Jersey side of the river.

The man's identity has not been released.
