First responders rescued a man from the Schuylkill River Saturday morning.

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- First responders rescued a man from the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park Saturday morning.

It happened before 8 a.m. near the Girard Avenue Bridge.

Officials tell Action News the man was sitting along the banks of the river along Kelly Drive when he fell in.

Police, firefighters and a marine unit all responded to the scene and quickly rescued the man.

He was not seriously hurt.
