Man shot in the back in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man in his 20s was shot when gunfire broke out in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:00 p.m. Thursday on the 100 block of North Salford Street.

Police say someone opened fire, striking the man in the back.

The victim was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

No word a motive or on any arrests.
