Man struck and killed in Chester County identified

A person was struck and killed in Marlborough Township, Chester County

EAST MARLBOROUGH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A man struck and killed in East Marlborough Township, Chester County, has been identified.

The pedestrian has been identified as 32-year-old Matthew Lane from West Chester, Pennsylvania.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday on East Baltimore Pike near Schoolhouse Road.

Police say Lane was entering the northbound lanes of travel on East Baltimore Pike when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Shawn Rose of Westover.

Lane was pronounced dead at the scene.

Route 1 between Route 82 and Schoolhouse Road was shut down for two-and-a-half hours.

No word on if Rose will face any charges.
