Mayfair store owner stabbed in the face during robbery

MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- Police say a store owner was stabbed in the face during a robbery Monday morning in Northeast Philadelphia.

The incident happened at the We Buy Gold store located on the 8000 block of Frankford Avenue in the city's Mayfair section.

Police say the suspect walked into the story and stabbed the owner in the face.

The suspect then fled the scene with $1,000 in cash.

The 67-year-old victim was transported to Aria-Torresdale Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, standing about 5'5".

He fled the scene in a black GMC truck and was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue shirt and black tie.
