Mother goose returns to favorite spot near Delaware Friendly's. Brian Taff reports during Action News at 4 p.m. on May 1, 2017.

HOCKESSIN, Del. (WPVI) -- A special guest is drawing visitors to a Delaware shopping center.

Lantana Square in Hockessin is once again home to a mother goose who comes back every year to lay her eggs.

Her favorite spot is under a tree near the Friendly's restaurant.

Some of the shopping center employees built a wire fence to protect her and her nest.

"I've been here almost eight years since the store opened and every year it's the same," Friendly's manager Catherine Jardine said.

The friendly's manager says the goose spends about two months laying the eggs and waiting for them to hatch.

During that time, father goose keeps a close watch on his family from a nearby patch of grass.
