New School Year, New Book Bag

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Hundreds of children in North Philadelphia got new book bags today, just before the start of the school year.

The One Day at a Time Drug and Alcohol Recovery program hosted it's annual block party here on the 16-hundred block of West York Street.

They fired up the grills and turned the street into a dance floor.

The president of the program says he does this every year so that kids can get the school year off to a great start.
